New Tour Stop: Torontron Summer Tour at imagineNATIVE 2026

Hand Eye Society is excited to announce a new stop on the Torontron Summer Tour.

From June 3–7, our custom arcade cabinets will be part of the iNdigital Space + Arcade at the 2026 imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival at the TIFF Lightbox. This stop features Indigenous games curated by imagineNATIVE as part of this year’s digital and interactive programming.

The iNdigital Space + Arcade is free and open to the public, offering festival-goers the chance to explore a wide range of digital, interactive, and audio works in one immersive space. Bigger and better than ever, this year’s presentation invites audiences to see, listen, and engage with a diverse collection of official selections, including video games, XR, interactive web projects, projections, podcasts, experimental soundscapes, and more.

On the Torontrons

As part of imagineNATIVE’s iNdigital Space + Arcade, the Torontrons will showcase two featured games curated by imagineNATIVE:

Coherence Ceremony

Tooth & Nail Pictures

Artist: Eva Grant (St’at’imc)
Producer: Yasmeen Grant
Narrative Designer: Hunter Grant (St’at’imc)

Canada | 2026
No Dialogue | Video Game

Gameplay of non-local entanglement effects in anadromous navigation networks. Threads cast across impossible distances. Joystick becomes shuttle, turning warp and weft into salmon swimming home. Ceremony collapses quantum possibility, spawning certainty through collective witness.

Land Invaders

BirdxBird

Artists: Cass Gardiner (Anishinaabe Algonquin), Juan Mateo Menendez

Canada | 2026
English | Video Game

Land Invaders is an experimental 8-bit video game that captures the nostalgic feel of classic arcade games while imagining an alternate history in which Columbus’ ships — the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria — never reached the shores of Turtle Island.

Cass Gardiner is an Anishinaabe Algonquin filmmaker, curator, and writer from Kebaowek First Nation. Her work has premiered at the Berlinale and Hot Docs and has been broadcast on PBS, CBC Gem, and Crave.
