Miriam Verburg Named Executive Director of Hand Eye Society
We’re thrilled to announce that Miriam Verburg has officially stepped into the role of Executive Director at Hand Eye Society!
In September 2025, Miriam took on the role of Interim Executive Director during a crucial time for the organization. Over the months that followed, she brought clarity and care to the position, helping to strengthen internal systems and chart a sustainable path forward. Following a successful interim period and with the Board’s support, Miriam has formally assumed the title of Executive Director.
Miriam is a long-time member of the Hand Eye community and a former mentor in our Futures Forward program. In 2012, she founded Bloom Digital Media, a studio dedicated to exploring the connection between video games and youth mental health. The studio mission: creating accessible, inclusive games for under-served players. Miriam also sits on the advisory committee for Ontario Creates, where she helps support the growth of the province’s digital media sector, and is an active member of Interactive Ontario.
Please join us in welcoming Miriam into this role. We’re grateful for the vision and heart she brings to Hand Eye Society, and are excited for what’s ahead. 💛
